Robert
Dotchin brings over 30 years of experience dealing with federal legislative and
regulatory issues.Since joining
The Advocacy Group in 1994, Mr. Dotchin has represented major corporations,
utilities, trade associations, and universities before Congress and Federal
agencies.
Prior
to joining the Firm, Mr. Dotchin served 17 years on Capitol Hill and is a
former Staff Director for the House Committee on Small Business.He served as Legislative Director
to Senator Lowell Weicker from 1974 to 1976, and was Congressman Weicker’s
principal policy adviser during his first re-election campaign.
As Staff Director
of the House Small Business Committee, Mr. Dotchin participated in the
enactment of a broad range of complex legislation, including the Prompt Payment
Act; the Federal Procurement Competition Act; the Small Business Administration
(SBA) Secondary Market Improvement Act; and the Small Business Innovation
Research Program.
After leaving Capitol Hill, Mr. Dotchin held the
position of Senior Vice President for a major trade association, directing a $1
million public affairs program. Mr. Dotchin also served as director of the
Washington office for a Fortune 500 medical device corporation.
