Bill
Bartolone developed and directed the Government affairs operations for a
combination of Cray Research, Inc. and Silicon Graphics, Inc. (SGI) from 1985
to 1999 and from 2001 to 2010. In that role he represented the companies on a
wide variety of issues before Congress and various science based agencies with
the goal of developing business and promoting high performance computing in
Washington, DC. These issues included: the appropriations process, science and
technology policy, and trade.
As the
corporate main liaison with Congress and the United States Government, Mr.
Bartolone lead efforts to help manage, or in some cases create, federal
computing programs that supported sales to agencies such as: Department of
Defense, Department of Energy, NASA, NOAA, NSF, and NIH.
From 1999 to
2001, Mr. Bartolone was the Vice President of Government Operations for E-Stamp
Corporation. In that capacity he directed E-Stamp’s business development
function in Washington, which was a provider of internet postage. In this
position he also acted as the main liaison for the company with the United
States Postal Service and Congress.
From 1980 to
1983 he was an associate director at the National Association of Manufacturers
responsible for human resource and employment and training issues. From 1983 to
1985 he was the manager of government affairs at the American Electronics
Association, where he directed issues relating to science and technology
policy.
Mr.
Bartolone received his Juris Doctor degree from George Mason University School
of Law and his undergraduate degree in Business Administration from Kent State
University.
